Pitman Arm

The pitman arm is an essential component of a car's steering system. It is a linkage that connects the steering gear to the steering linkage, typically the steering box. The primary purpose of the pitman arm is to transfer the steering input from the driver to the wheels, enabling the car to change direction. When the driver turns the steering wheel, the pitman arm converts the rotational motion into lateral movement, which then gets transmitted to the tie rods and eventually to the wheels. This allows the car to steer left or right as per the driver's commands.
