A tailshaft mount, also known as a driveshaft support, is a component in a car that holds the driveshaft in place. The driveshaft is a long tube that transmits power from the transmission to the rear differential. Without a tailshaft mount, the driveshaft would be free to move around and vibrate, causing damage to other parts of the car and making for an uncomfortable ride.

The tailshaft mount is usually made of rubber and sits in a metal bracket bolted to the underside of the car's body. This rubber material helps to absorb and dampen vibrations as the driveshaft rotates, preventing excessive wear and tear on the driveshaft and other components. A damaged or worn tailshaft mount can cause a number of problems, such as excessive vibration, clunking noises, and even damage to the car's transmission or differential.
